Before a client shakes your hand, they see your lobby sign. It’s the first impression. It communicates who you are, what you stand for, and whether you’re worth their time. A generic sign says “we’re just another company.” A custom lobby sign says “we’re the one you’ve been looking for.”
Types of Lobby Signs
Dimensional Letters — Raised letters and logos mounted directly to the wall. Acrylic, metal, or wood. The most popular choice for modern offices.
Backlit Halo Signs — Letters with LED backlighting that creates a halo glow effect. Premium look, strong brand presence.
Acrylic Panel Signs — Printed or engraved acrylic panels. Clean, professional, cost-effective. Great for law firms, medical offices.
Metal Signs — Brushed aluminum, stainless steel, bronze, or brass. Institutional, authoritative, timeless.
Wood Signs — Warm, natural look. Great for spas, boutique firms, creative agencies.
Lobby Sign Design Considerations
- Brand colors — exact Pantone matching available
- Logo reproduction — CNC-cut, printed, or dimensional
- Wall material — drywall, brick, glass, stone — each needs different mounting
- Lighting — ambient (existing) vs. dedicated sign lighting vs. integrated LED
- Size — proportional to wall and reception area
Lobby Signs ≠ ADA Signs (Know the Difference)
Company lobby signs and logos are exempt from ADA requirements. No braille needed. No tactile characters. No mounting height rules. This gives you complete design freedom for your lobby.
ADA signs are required for the rooms BEHIND the lobby — offices, conference rooms, restrooms. But the lobby itself? Pure brand expression.
